This regular performance is hosted by the Pocheon Municipal Folk Arts Troupe and sponsored by Pocheon City, and will be held in two parts. The first part consists of a gugak orchestral performance exploring the endless possibilities of Korean creative music based on traditional music.
Centered on Lee Geon-woo's song collection "Geumjandi," which uses Kim So-wol's poetry as lyrics, the program begins with a piece combining melodies by Kim Dae-sung, transcribing elements such as the Ollimchae jangdan from Ji Young-hee's Gyeonggi Dodanggut. It also features performances of "Mudang's Dance," "Sugungga," and "Shinnaerim."
In the second part, Artistic Director Lim Yoon-hee, who won the Grand Prize (Presidential Award) at the 32nd National Dance Festival, choreographs and directs the work "Water, Painting the Sky." This piece expresses the fundamental meaning and cyclicality of water as a metaphor for life through dance, depicting the journey of water from droplets to rivers and seas as encounters, connections, and life.
Artistic Director Lim Yoon-hee said, "Water symbolizes the essence of life and relationships," and added, "I hope the stage becomes an opportunity for the audience to reflect on the meaning of life."
The performance is free of charge for all seats. Tickets can be reserved through the Pocheon Cultural Foundation website and Naver.
