Huh Kwonjun Selected as Best Road Construction Officer

Gyeonggi Paju City (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 6th that it selected the '2024 Second Half Active Administration Outstanding Public Officials' to grant special privileges to excellent public officials who contributed to resolving citizen inconveniences and advancing city administration, and to establish a culture of active administration in public service.

The 'Active Administration Outstanding Public Officials' were selected by receiving active administration cases recommended from each department and conducting practical evaluations and employee surveys on ▲citizen impact ▲officials' proactiveness ▲creativity and expertise ▲importance of the task ▲potential for dissemination, followed by a final review by the Active Administration Committee.

The employees selected as the '2024 Second Half Active Administration Outstanding Public Officials' include four individuals: ▲Grand Prize for overcoming limitations in the 'Bottleneck Improvement Project' and promoting additional major national road projects (Road Construction Division, Heo Kwon-jun), ▲Excellence Award for establishing a win-win agreement and cooperation system between the city and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to improve traffic congestion around the GTX (Great Train Express) transfer center (Transportation Policy Division, Hwang Jong-gu), ▲Encouragement Award for actively promoting the 2·5·7 system in civil complaint administrative services to complete administrative innovation in permits and licenses (Permit General Division, Hong Ji-beom), and for resolving public transportation complaints through the establishment of countermeasures for the discontinuation of Seoul city bus routes (774, 773, 9714) (Bus Policy Division, Kim Hae-won).

The outstanding active administration cases selected in the first half were previously awarded the grand prize (1st place) at the Gyeonggi Province City and County Regulatory Innovation Excellent Case Competition, the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the Local Regulatory Innovation Competition, and were also recognized as excellent cases for improving shadow and behavioral regulations through active administration.

The four individuals selected as 'Active Administration Outstanding Public Officials' this time will receive personnel privileges and commendations, and their departments will be awarded prize money.

Furthermore, the outstanding active administration cases from this second half will be produced as a collection of excellent cases and card news to be distributed to local governments nationwide to facilitate nationwide dissemination.
