The achievement sharing meeting was attended by 10 village communities and 5 small-scale communities participating in the root stage. Various project cases led by residents were presented, focusing on strengthening networks among communities and spreading excellent examples.
In particular, the youth famtour program introduced by ‘Coming Sup’ attracted attention. This program involves local youth exploring nature and cultural heritage, fostering affection for the region and a sense of community, and was evaluated as a creative model for local community revitalization.
Additionally, projects to revitalize the village economy using local specialties, resident-led environmental maintenance projects, and various small-scale activities to promote community culture also drew interest.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “This event was a meaningful occasion to confirm resident-led change and growth,” adding, “Through the Citizen Idea Contest root stage, I hope to discover residents’ creative ideas and excellent communities and develop them into the stem and fruit stages.”
He continued, “The city and residents will join forces to continue sustainable community activities and village development, and we will do our best to provide policy support and establish a systematic system.”
