The 313 patrol vessel of the Taean Coast Guard in Chungnam has achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as the 'Best Vessel of the Year' among 54 vessels under the Central Regional Coast Guard Headquarters.


In the small vessel category, the P-111 vessel of the Taean Coast Guard was also selected as an 'Excellent Vessel,' and the Sinjin Police Box, which was chosen as the 'Best Police Box' last year, was selected as an 'Excellent Police Box' this year, achieving outstanding results for two consecutive years.


According to the Taean Coast Guard on the 6th, the selection of 'Excellent Vessels' is based on evaluations in a total of eight categories, including comprehensive maritime training, surprise and tabletop exercise performance, major vessel achievements, and boat operation (performance management) competitions and teamwork training.


Furthermore, the selection of 'Excellent Police Boxes' is conducted through objective and comprehensive evaluations in eight categories, including best practices in coastal safety, surprise and tabletop exercise performance, and teamwork and situational response training.


The Taean Coast Guard 313 vessel achieved results such as conducting strategic patrols based on security information analysis throughout the year, resulting in zero maritime accidents and zero cases of illegal entry or departure within its jurisdiction during its deployment period.

In particular, the vessel received high marks for achieving first place in the Central Regional Headquarters' high-speed boat competition and vessel performance management competition, as well as for enhancing vessel safety and achieving zero crew accidents by submitting cases of major accident prevention and improvement activities on board.


Captain Cheon Jiho of the 313 vessel stated, "Being selected as the best vessel is thanks to all crew members consistently engaging in training as if it were real situations," and pledged, "We will continue to focus on the fundamentals and strive for innovative maritime security to prevent various maritime accidents and crimes such as illegal entry and departure."


Chief Lim Jaesu commented, "This achievement is the result of the efforts of all crew members of the Taean Coast Guard 313 vessel," and added, "I hope the 313 vessel will continue to be strong in the field while staying true to the basics, and I ask everyone to always prioritize safety while on duty."
