Uijeongbu-si Holds 2024 Regional Children's Center Selection Review Committee Meeting

Review of Special Facilities for Operating Expense Support and Selection of Regional Child Centers by Characteristics

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 6th that it held the 'Local Children's Center Selection Review Committee' for the 2024 operating expense support special facility review and the selection of local children's centers by characteristics.

The review committee held at the Dream Start Western Center was attended by six members including the chairman. Seven centers, including Nanum Study Room Local Children's Center, requested the operating expense support special facility review and the selection of local children's centers by characteristics, and the Local Children's Center Committee reviewed a total of two agenda items.

The committee members deliberated on whether to provide special operating expense support for facilities applying for nonprofit incorporation and discussed additional support for facilities operating differentiated programs.

On that day, excluding the highest and lowest scores from the attending members, two centers that scored an average of 70 points or higher were selected as operating expense support special facilities, and four centers were selected as local children's centers by characteristics (selected from the highest scoring facilities).

Lee Byung-taek, Director of the Welfare Bureau, said, "We will operate differentiated programs by providing specialized services," and added, "We will do our best to strengthen publicness by enhancing public interest and transparency so that all local children's centers can contribute to stabilizing child care."

Meanwhile, local children's centers provide comprehensive welfare services such as protection and education, healthy play and recreation, and connection with guardians and the local community for the sound development of children in the community who need after-school care.
