Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the ‘2024 Lifelong Learning Performance Sharing Event ‘Ham · Seong · So · Ri’ at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center until December 12.

The theme of this event, ‘Ham · Seong · So · Ri,’ means ‘Our stories of growing and communicating together,’ and it was prepared to share the fruits of lifelong learning projects carried out with residents throughout the year and to create a space for communication among residents, instructors, and learners.

The 2024 Lifelong Learning Performance Sharing Event will feature various programs. On the first floor of the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center, in the ‘Everyone’s Space,’ a ‘Works Exhibition’ will be held, showcasing works created directly by learners and instructors. Thirteen teams, including lifelong learning center students and instructors, learning clubs, and participants in the lifelong learning city program for people with disabilities, will participate, exhibiting a total of 154 works.

The exhibited works consist of various fields such as upcycling crafts, water-based pen illustrations, folk paintings, and digital calligraphy, and are open for free viewing by anyone. In addition, as part of the lifelong learning city project for people with disabilities, there will be a listening space where visitors can enjoy audiobooks created by participants of the ‘Making My Own Audiobook’ program, along with the results of an art therapy program for the visually impaired on display.

Next, on December 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a ‘One-Day Experience Program’ will be specially operated in the lecture room on the third floor of the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center. Various healing experience programs are prepared, including making mini perfumes, wire doll making, and Christmas dreamcatcher making, which can be enjoyed by a wide age range from elementary school students to adults.

Participation in the experience programs can be applied for in advance through the district office’s integrated reservation system on the website or by on-site registration. For more details, inquiries can be made to the district office’s Future Education Division.

The district is currently recruiting students for the first quarter lifelong learning courses to be held at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center in 2025. Starting with this recruitment, a ‘Resident Priority Registration System’ will be introduced, allowing Yeongdeungpo residents to apply from December 2 and residents from other areas from December 5, with all applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “This performance sharing event will be a place of communication to share the achievements of learning with residents and reaffirm the value of lifelong learning,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create an environment where residents can demonstrate their individual capabilities through lifelong education and develop together with the local community.”
