On the 5th, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would impose sanctions on 13 U.S. defense companies and 6 executives in response to the U.S. arms sales to Taiwan.
In a statement posted on its website that day, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the recent U.S. arms sales to Taiwan "seriously violate the 'One China Principle' and seriously interfere in China's internal affairs," and announced that it had decided to impose sanctions on U.S. military-industrial companies and senior executives in accordance with the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law.
Accordingly, the assets of 13 U.S. defense companies, including Teledyne Brown Engineering, Brink Drone, and Shield AI, in China will be frozen, and Chinese organizations and individuals are prohibited from conducting transactions or cooperating with these companies.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that six executives of U.S. defense companies, including Barbara Borgonovi, Chair of the Naval Power Division at Raytheon RTX (Raytheon Technologies), and Blake Lesnick, CEO of Brink Drone, will face measures such as asset freezes in China, visa issuance bans, and entry prohibitions.
