At the Love Thermometer unveiling ceremony held in the lobby on the first floor of the city hall main building, Mayor Lee said, “Sharing has greater power when done together rather than alone.”
This campaign will run for 62 days from December 1 this year to January 31 next year, with a target amount of 200 million won. For every 2 million won, which is 1% of the target amount, donated, the sharing temperature on the Love Thermometer will rise by 1 degree, reaching 100 degrees when the entire target is achieved.
The event was attended by key figures including Mayor Lee Hyun-jae, Geum Gwang-yeon, Chairperson of Hanam City Council, and Kim Hyo-jin, Secretary General of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.
The Hanam Love Thermometer meets citizens under the slogan “Make myself valuable through donation, make Hanam valuable,” which carries the meaning of creating a valuable society and community by participating in donation and sharing.
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to help vulnerable groups such as the elderly, disabled, children and youth, and families in crisis.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, “As the harsh cold wind of winter approaches us, warm compassion that can melt hearts has become even more urgent,” adding, “Please actively engage in sharing and solidarity so that we can deliver hope to marginalized neighbors we have yet to discover.”
