Overall Ranking Rises 15 Places from 26th to 11th
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that it ranked first overall in the 'Performance Improvement Category' in this year's comprehensive evaluation of cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province. The city added that it secured a financial incentive of 33 million won through this evaluation.
The comprehensive evaluation of cities and counties is a system in which Gyeonggi Province divides its 31 cities and counties into three groups based on population size and evaluates their overall administrative capabilities regarding key national tasks and major provincial policies. The evaluation score is calculated by combining 20% of last year's government joint evaluation performance and 80% of this year's comprehensive evaluation performance of cities and counties.
In the evaluation consisting of 104 indicators across 9 fields, Osan City received the highest grade, S grade, in 102 indicators, achieving a total score of 100.96 points including additional points. The city explained that the total score increased by 4 points compared to the previous year, achieving the highest score ever since the comprehensive evaluation of cities and counties began.
The city received high marks in areas such as the priority purchase rate for environmental friendliness and social value expansion, the amount of recyclable resources separated per resident, and the achievement rate of employment support services.
Osan City also announced that its overall ranking in the comprehensive evaluation rose 15 places from 26th last year to 11th this year. The city explained that this was the result of continuous efforts from the beginning of the year, including indicator management, meetings on measures for underperforming indicators, and expert consulting.
Lee Gwon-jae, mayor of Osan City, said, "This achievement is the result of all public officials working together with one heart to provide high-quality administrative services to citizens," adding, "We will continue to do our best to make Osan City a happy city for its citizens."
