Following President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law, the six opposition parties submitted an impeachment motion, with a vote imminent. Amid this, G-Dragon of the group Big Bang has attracted attention for liking a post that appears to criticize President Yoon.

On the 4th, poet Ha Sang-wook posted a photo on his social media account showing part of his short poetry collection "Lying on the Bed Without Turning Off the Light." The photo included the phrase "Just please go away on your own." Although he did not add any explanation, netizens speculated based on the timing of the post that it was a criticism of President Yoon's martial law declaration and a call for his resignation. When G-Dragon also liked the post, some netizens suggested that he indirectly agreed with the criticism of President Yoon. However, others argued, "Since releasing his new song 'POWER' last month, G-Dragon has been actively liking posts on SNS. We should refrain from premature assumptions."

Meanwhile, several other celebrities also voiced criticism of the martial law declaration. Broadcaster Kim Na-young expressed her troubled feelings with a post saying, "I have nothing to say to my child," accompanied by a bowed head emoticon. Chef Raymond Kim also criticized, saying, "2 hours and 48 minutes. A Guinness World Record-worthy event. Did they just want to try it out?" He added, "A person who mocked the Constitution and the people of the Republic of Korea in the 21st century. Someone who personally demonstrated foolishness."

MBC announcer Lim Hyun-joo also shared the martial law proclamation announced the previous night on her SNS early on the 4th, expressing disbelief with the comment, "In 2024? I can't believe what happened overnight." She continued, "Watching the news special at dawn, texting with my dad, eating eggs, and trying to sleep again," adding, "In the end, the live broadcast 'This Morning' was canceled after staying up all night, and somehow I greeted the morning leisurely." She also posted a humorous note about President Yoon's martial law declaration, saying, "Today’s English lesson from listening to a conversation between my spouse Daniel and a British friend this morning: 'martial law (계엄법)' and 'marital law (혼인법)'. Could these two have been confused?"

Earlier, on the 3rd around 10:28 p.m., President Yoon declared martial law in an emergency national address. Subsequently, the National Assembly passed a motion to lift martial law, and the government officially lifted it at 4:30 a.m. after a Cabinet meeting. On the 4th afternoon, the six opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea, gathered at the National Assembly’s legislative affairs office in Yeouido, Seoul, to submit an impeachment motion against President Yoon. The motion reportedly stated that "President Yoon issued martial law, which is fundamentally invalid, violating the Constitution and laws despite failing to meet any of the constitutional requirements for martial law." The impeachment motion is expected to be voted on in the plenary session as early as the 6th.
