Sportichi, Camry, Explorer, and Others Win Competition
The new BMW X3 has been selected as the Car of the Month for December by the Korea Automobile Journalists Association.
The Korea Automobile Journalists Association announced this selection result on the 5th.
The association's Car of the Year selection committee evaluates new and facelifted models released during the month from the 1st to the end of the previous month and announces the Car of the Month. The evaluation categories include ▲interior/exterior design and emotional quality ▲safety and convenience features ▲power performance ▲energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions ▲marketability and purchase intention, totaling five categories.
Among the new cars introduced last month, the Kia The New Sportage, BMW New X3, Toyota 2025 Camry, and Ford The New Ford Explorer were candidates for Car of the Month for December. Among these, the New X3 was finally selected with a score of 35.3 points out of 50.
The BMW New X3 received 8.0 points (out of 10) each in the interior/exterior design and emotional quality, and safety and convenience features categories. It scored 7.0 points in the power performance category.
Jung Chi-yeon, chairman of the Car of the Year selection committee, explained, "The BMW New X3, completely redesigned in its 4th generation, combines a larger body with a luxurious and striking design," adding, "It offers an advanced digital experience by applying the latest operating system, BMW Operating System (OS) 9."
Meanwhile, the association announces the Car of the Month selection results through its website. Vehicles selected as Car of the Month are granted a free pass privilege, allowing them to advance directly to the first round of the final judging without going through the first and second half evaluations of the Car of the Year.
