The Democratic Party of Korea stated on the 5th that the final decision on the timing of the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol "will likely be made by the party leadership."
Kang Yoo-jung, the Democratic Party's floor spokesperson, said to reporters after the party meeting at the National Assembly that day, "There were various opinions regarding the report on the impeachment motion and when it could be processed."
Regarding the impeachment motion against Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, she said, "It will be submitted together today," adding, "The reports on the impeachment motions for both the minister and the president will be submitted simultaneously."
Outdoor rallies for President Yoon's impeachment are also expected to continue. Kang explained, "With the impeachment motion being reported today, regardless of whether the motion passes or not, outdoor rallies and civil society gatherings will continue to be combined."
Regarding the People Power Party's consensus on 'rejecting President Yoon's impeachment,' Kang predicted, "If it is rejected, the ruling party will have to bear a significant public burden." She also asserted, "This issue is not one to be taken lightly or with hesitation."
