Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee pledged on the 3rd to create a happy environment for children and adolescents in Dongdaemun-gu by participating in the 'Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign.'
The Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign is an SNS relay campaign that started in May, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Protection Agency to prevent child abuse and spread awareness of positive parenting.
'Positive parenting' refers to a parenting method that respects children as independent individuals and is based on mutual communication, understanding, and trust between parents and children. It presents nine specific practices, including ▲knowing your child ▲listening and empathizing ▲maintaining consistency ▲acknowledging mistakes.
Mayor Ilhyung Lee, who participated in the campaign upon the nomination of Gangnam-gu Mayor Seongmyung Jo, recommended Dobong-gu Mayor Unseok Oh and Kyung Hee University Hospital Director Juhyung Oh as the next participants in the campaign.
