Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced on the 4th that it received the Minister's Commendation for 'Excellence in Violence Prevention Education' at the '2024 Women's Violence Eradication Week Ceremony' hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, in recognition of its efforts to create a happy workplace through fostering a culture of mutual respect.


The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family annually selects and awards outstanding public institutions and organizations nationwide that are required to conduct mandatory violence prevention education. Gwangju Transportation Corporation was recognized for its efforts to prevent workplace violence and promote a culture of gender equality, becoming the only outstanding institution among six urban railway operators nationwide.


In particular, the corporation received high marks for actively implementing programs such as tailored violence prevention education according to work types (shift and regular), special sexual harassment prevention education and pledge signing for management, and joint human rights respect campaigns with related organizations, as well as for its proactive preventive activities.


Cho Ik-moon, President of Gwangju Transportation Corporation, said, “We are pleased that our collective efforts by executives and employees to establish a culture of consideration and respect have been recognized. We will continue to do our best to create a healthy workplace atmosphere through various violence prevention education programs and active promotional activities.”
