Professor Jeon In-cheol, head of the Department of Optometry at Dongshin University, has been elected as the 13th president of the Korean Society of Vision Science.
At the recent general meeting of the Korean Society of Vision Science, Professor Jeon was elected as the next president, recognized as the ideal candidate to lead the future development of the society due to his extensive academic achievements and leadership.
Along with active participation in academic activities, Professor Jeon has built outstanding research achievements in the fields of optics and ophthalmology, and has been at the forefront of expanding academic horizons through interdisciplinary research combining ophthalmology and vision science.
On the 4th, Professor Jeon stated, “The Korean Society of Vision Science, which has played a central role in the development of ophthalmology and vision science in our country, will continue to strive to achieve sustainable development by maintaining a balance between academic research and practical application.” He added, “We plan to strengthen exchanges among members and expand society-level support so that domestic researchers can gain international recognition.”
He further emphasized, “We will strengthen cooperation between academia and industry and support the society to play a leading role in the rapidly changing research environment of vision science.”
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 1999, the Korean Society of Vision Science has led research and education in ophthalmology and vision science, contributing to the advancement of science and technology and the elevation of academic standards.
