According to the statement, the declaration of martial law must be made under Article 77 of the Constitution during wartime, armed conflict, or a comparable national emergency; however, this martial law order was pointed out as an abuse of power intended to suppress political opposition and the voices of the people.

It also criticized that the wrongful declaration of martial law severely infringed upon the basic rights of the people and plunged Korean society into conflict and chaos.

Chairman Kim Kyung-yeol stated, "President Yoon Seok-yeol must immediately apologize to the people and step down," adding, "The Boseong County Council will fight alongside the residents against unjust power that threatens the future of the Republic of Korea and democracy."
