Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 4th that it has been sequentially paying 14.7 billion KRW in the 2024 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment since the end of November.
This year, the target farms for the public interest direct payment are 9,155 farms (6,060 hectares), with 5.2 billion KRW to be paid to 4,020 small-scale farms and 9.5 billion KRW to be paid to 5,135 farms under the area-based direct payment.
Haman-gun has been accepting applications since February and, by October, conducted post-verification of farmers and farmland eligibility requirements and compliance checks for applicants to finalize the recipients and payment amounts.
In particular, this year, the payment unit price for small-scale direct payments increased by 1 million KRW from 1.2 million KRW last year to 1.3 million KRW, resulting in a 600 million KRW increase in small-scale direct payment amounts compared to last year.
A county official said, “We hope this will be of some help to the farmers who have devoted all their efforts to farming despite difficult agricultural conditions such as natural disasters.”
