On the 4th, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it installed an automatic tumbler washing machine at the Ttaoki Cafe on the basement first floor of the county office to reduce the use of disposable cups and encourage carbon neutrality practices in daily life.

Changnyeong-gun has been encouraging the use of reusable cups due to the increase in disposable product usage, but the inconvenience of washing tumblers has been a hurdle. Therefore, by introducing the automatic washing machine, it was made convenient not only for employees but also for visitors to the county office.

This washing machine uses eco-friendly detergent and can sterilize and wash cups, straws, and lids all at once in just 45 seconds, making it hygienic and expected to greatly help in making the use of reusable cups a daily habit.

An official from the county said, “We hope that residents actively use the tumbler washing machine and participate in using reusable cups,” adding, “Changnyeong-gun will continue to spread a carbon-neutral culture in the local community through various measures to reduce disposable product usage.”

Meanwhile, the county is also striving to create a disposable-free work environment by restricting the use and bringing in of disposable cups within the government building and actively encouraging the use of reusable containers in various meetings and events.
