Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 4th that it has signed a business agreement to establish a prompt and proactive medical support system for abused children and to designate dedicated medical institutions for child abuse.
Through this business agreement, the medical institutions designated as dedicated medical institutions for child abuse are Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital of the Catholic University and Dongducheon Lee Kang Pediatric Clinic, totaling two institutions.
The main contents of the agreement include prompt measures for abused children, participation in integrated case meetings for determining child abuse, and mutual cooperation for the healthy growth of abused children and prevention of child abuse.
The designated medical institutions plan to provide integrated medical services for abused children through various medical systems including pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics.
A Dongducheon City official said, "We sincerely thank the two medical institutions that participated as dedicated medical institutions to support abused children," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that abused children can recover and grow as healthy members of society through public-private cooperation and the establishment of an organic medical system."
