Ulsan City will hold the ‘Myeongchon Public Garage Construction Completion Ceremony’ at 10 a.m. on the 4th at Myeongchon Public Garage in Myeongchon-dong, Buk-gu.
Ulsan City Hall.
About 200 people will attend the event, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, Acting Chairman of the Ulsan City Council Kim Jong-seop, Bus Transport Association Chairman Kim Young-gon, Kyungdong City Gas President Na Yoon-ho, Kohigen Co., Ltd. President Lee Kyung-sil, and other related organizations, companies, and transportation industry officials.
The event will proceed in the order of guest introductions, project progress report, ribbon cutting, and facility tour.
Myeongchon Public Garage is a facility relocated and expanded to 433-11 Myeongchon-dong, Buk-gu, from the city bus turnaround point at Taehwagang Station due to the development of the Taehwagang Station Transfer Center.
A total project cost of 15.4 billion KRW was invested, and the facility was constructed on a site area of 22,804㎡ with a total building floor area of 2,415㎡.
Main facilities include 105 parking spaces, a main building, a security building, two compressed natural gas (CNG) chargers, three hydrogen chargers, and 25 electric chargers. The hydrogen and electric charging facilities were implemented by the private sector.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, “Myeongchon Public Garage is the first eco-friendly complex public garage in Ulsan city equipped with compressed natural gas (CNG), hydrogen, and electric charging facilities. It is expected to significantly alleviate the shortage of four city bus garages located on the outskirts.”
He added, “Located in the city center, Myeongchon Garage will play an important role in efficiently shortening the long-distance city bus routes, which have been pointed out as a problem, and reallocating resources accordingly. This will improve the convenience of public transportation use by shortening dispatch intervals and increasing the number of operations.”
Ulsan City will implement the city bus route reorganization starting December 21, and detailed route changes and route search information can be found in the route search section on the Ulsan City website.
