Lee Jun-seok "Yoon Should Be Expelled as 'Ringleader of Rebellion'"... Hong Joon-pyo "Midnight Happening"

"If Not in Cahoots, Immediately Convene Ethics Committee and Expel"

Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, demanded that the People Power Party immediately expel President Yoon Seok-yeol.

On the 4th, Lee stated on SNS (social networking service), "There are talks within the People Power Party about Yoon Seok-yeol's withdrawal from the party and the total resignation of the cabinet," adding, "If the People Power Party takes today's incident seriously, it should not urge the traitor Yoon Seok-yeol to leave the party but immediately expel him."

Lee raised his voice, saying that according to the People Power Party's code of ethics, President Yoon should be immediately expelled. He said, "The party that defined stopping arbitrary power as 'internal betrayal' and even held an ethics committee to remove people is surprisingly calm in the face of a real coup attempt," and added, "If they are not all in cahoots, they should convene the ethics committee immediately this morning and expel him."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Hong Joon-pyo, mayor of Daegu, commented on President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law, saying, "I understand the sincerity, but it was a reckless midnight happening." Hong stated this on SNS (social networking service), expressing regret by saying, "I wonder if there was no other way," and added, "I hope it will be properly resolved."

On the other hand, some members of the People Power Party expressed support for President Yoon's declaration of martial law. Former People Power Party lawmaker Min Kyung-wook said, "The root cause of all this trouble is the birth of a pro-North Korean leftist major opposition party through election interference by anti-state forces," and claimed that the Democratic Party, etc., provoked the declaration of martial law. He also said, "Han Dong-hoon opposed President Yoon's martial law faster than Lee Jae-myung." Former lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok also expressed support, saying, "President Yoon has put everything on the line."
