Suwon 'Gyeonggi-do Dormitory' Recruiting 77 Residents... From January 15 Next Year

Gyeonggi Province will recruit 77 residents for the ‘Gyeonggi-do Dormitory’ starting from January 15 next year.

The Gyeonggi-do Dormitory, located in Seodun-dong, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon City, has a total of 96 rooms, including 91 triple rooms and 5 single rooms (for persons with disabilities), as well as an on-site cafeteria, laundry room, gym, and multipurpose sports area. The current capacity is 278 residents. Additionally, there is a bus stop right in front of the dormitory’s main gate, and Suwon Station is nearby, making commuting to school or work convenient.

This regular recruitment will select 60 university students and 17 youths (aged 15 to 29). Eligibility requires residency in Gyeonggi Province as of the 29th of last month, with continuous residence for at least one year or a total of 10 years registered in Gyeonggi-do.

Applications can be submitted online through the Gyeonggi-do Dormitory website (ggdorm.or.kr).

After screening, successful applicants can reside for up to two years starting from February 25 next year.

Residents pay a monthly fee of 200,000 KRW and can use various amenities necessary for dormitory life, including ▲breakfast and dinner ▲sports lessons ▲community-linked cultural experiences ▲employment programs linked with institutions.

University students are selected based on their income evaluation score and additional points from the student loan support notification, while youths are evaluated evenly through income assessment (30 points) based on submitted health insurance payment certificates, independence plans (20 points), and interviews (50 points).

Since it takes about eight weeks to issue the student loan support notification after application, applicants must obtain it in advance through the Korea Student Aid Foundation before applying for the dormitory. For other required documents and detailed information, please check the Gyeonggi-do Dormitory website or contact the Gyeonggi-do Dormitory at 031-217-7671.
