Yangju City Holds 'Intangible Cultural Heritage Organizations Meeting'

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 3rd that it held the 'Yangju City Intangible Cultural Heritage Organizations Meeting' on the 2nd at the Comprehensive Tourism Information Center conference room to preserve and pass on Yangju's intangible cultural heritage.

This meeting was organized as an opportunity for actively operating intangible cultural heritage organizations in the area to share their achievements of the year.

The event was attended by eight groups representing various intangible cultural heritage categories, including the national intangible cultural heritage Yangju Byeolsandae Nori Preservation Society, Yangju Sonori Gut Preservation Society, Gyeonggi Province intangible cultural heritage Yangju Sangyeo Wahoe Dajisori Preservation Society, Yangju Nongak Preservation Society, Cheongryeonsa Saengjeon Yesujae Preservation Society, Cheonbong Najeon Chilgi Preservation Society, local heritage (Yangju City intangible cultural heritage) Yangju Deulnorae Preservation Society, and Hwanghae Province intangible cultural heritage Choi Young General Dang Gut Preservation Society.

Participants at the event began by discussing the 2025 annual schedule for integrated intangible cultural heritage performances and continued to explore ways to bring intangible cultural heritage closer to citizens in the coming new year.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “Starting with this meeting, I ask everyone to continue efforts in 2025 to widely promote ‘Yangju, the Historical and Cultural City’ through wonderful performances and to help citizens enjoy and appreciate our city’s proud intangible cultural heritage more.” He added, “Yangju City will also actively strive to widely promote and further develop our excellent intangible cultural heritage.”
