Awarded Encouragement Prize... Secured Institutional Commendation and 100 Million Won Financial Incentive
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 3rd that it has been selected as an excellent institution for 10 consecutive years in the '2024 Gyeonggi-do City and County Comprehensive Evaluation,' receiving an institutional commendation (encouragement) along with a financial incentive of 100 million KRW.
The Gyeonggi-do City and County Comprehensive Evaluation is a system that assesses the administrative capabilities of local governments through key national tasks and major provincial policy indicators. The 31 cities and counties in the province are divided into three groups based on population size, and Guri City belongs to Group 3 along with Icheon City, Anseong City, Uiwang City, Pocheon City, Yangpyeong County, Yeoju City, Dongducheon City, Gwacheon City, Gapyeong County, and Yeoncheon County.
In the final evaluation results, Guri City received the highest grade, S grade, in 101 out of 104 indicators, earning favorable evaluations in most areas of national tasks and major provincial policies. With a score of 100.56, which is 1.32 points higher than the previous year, Guri City has been selected as an excellent institution for 10 consecutive years since 2015.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun stated, "Being selected as an excellent institution in the city and county comprehensive evaluation for 10 consecutive years is a valuable result achieved by the united efforts of over a thousand public officials," and added, "We will continue to strive to create a 'Happier Guri City' by providing citizens with the highest level of administrative services in Korea based on outstanding administrative capabilities."
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the year, the city has established a detailed response plan for the evaluation and actively responded by operating an effective performance management system, including ▲ monthly performance report meetings to check progress ▲ one-on-one training and customized consulting for each indicator manager ▲ strengthening cooperative systems through smooth communication between departments.
