Shinan-gun Selects Bigeum, Jaeun, and Jangsan Myeon as Outstanding Waste Management Townships

Jeungdo, Anjwa, and Docho Myeon Pointed Out for Improvement Needs in 'Daejo'

On the 3rd, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that Bigeum, Jaeun, and Jangsan myeon were selected as outstanding towns and townships in the '2024 Waste Management Evaluation,' drawing attention as exemplary cases of cleaning administration. On the other hand, Jungdo-myeon, Anjwa, and Docho-myeon were pointed out as needing relative improvement.

The 'Waste Management Evaluation' was introduced as an internal policy since 2022 to improve the quality of cleaning administration services and to promote the proper operation of waste treatment facilities. This year's evaluation, conducted from January to November, assessed all 14 towns and townships in the jurisdiction by summing scores based on 34 indicators across 9 categories covering the entire process from waste generation to transportation and treatment.

An official from the county stated, “This evaluation has raised the overall standard of waste management, but some indicators require improvement. We plan to share exemplary and insufficient cases through job training for staff and on-site guidance, and to improve indicators and incentives, striving for sustainable waste management.”
