According to the Tongyeong Police Station and the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, Mr. A’s truck, which was carrying bricks, was traveling down a two-lane downhill road after crossing a hill when it struck passenger cars waiting at the traffic signal in lanes 1, 2, and 3 one after another.

It was confirmed that Mr. A was not under the influence of alcohol nor driving without a license.

The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on Mr. A’s statement that the brake, the braking device, did not function properly on the downhill road.
