Ryu Gyu-ha, Mayor of Jung-gu, Daegu, participated in the 'Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign' on the 2nd.
Organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Child Rights Protection Agency, this campaign, which has been ongoing since May, was established to prevent child abuse and promote a positive parenting culture.
Having been nominated by Kim Hyo-rin, Vice Chairperson of the Jung-gu Council in Daegu, Mayor Ryu held a placard with the phrase "Respect children as they are, positive parenting," emphasizing the importance of preventing child abuse and spreading a parenting culture that respects children as independent individuals.
Mayor Ryu nominated Im In-hwan, Daegu City Council member; Seo Gi-dae, Chief of Daegu Jungbu Police Station; and Choi Jae-hoon, Mayor of Dalseong County, as the next participants.
Mayor Ryu Gyu-ha of Jung-gu said, "I hope this campaign becomes an opportunity to spread a parenting culture that respects children as they are and cares for them warmly," adding, "We will do our best to protect the rights of children in the district, including preventing child abuse."
