A man in his 30s who killed a man he met for the first time and used the victim's fingerprints to take out a loan of about 60 million won was arrested and handed over to the prosecution.

On the 2nd, the Gimcheon Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced that they recently arrested Mr. A on charges including robbery and murder and sent him to the prosecution. According to the police, Mr. A is accused of killing another man in his 30s with a weapon on the 25th of last month, then using the victim's fingerprints to unlock his phone and spending several million won at taxis and convenience stores, as well as taking out a simple loan of about 60 million won.

Mr. A, who was suffering from financial difficulties, is known to have wandered near an officetel looking for a target. At the time, he testified to the police that he was sitting in front of the victim's house, whom he did not know, and when the victim told him to leave, he entered the house and killed him.

Afterwards, Mr. A sent text messages using the deceased victim's phone saying 'not home' and 'going to Tongyeong' when the victim's family and police visited the house because the victim did not go to work.

Mr. A was caught by the police at a hospital in Gimcheon where he went to treat wounds he sustained during the crime while using the victim's ID card and cash card. During the police investigation, there was evidence that Mr. A tried to conceal traces of the murder by attempting to purchase ethanol and wet wipes from an online shopping mall. The police conducted a psychopathy test on Mr. A, but the results have not yet been released.
