'MMCA Research Lab' is a Korean and English online platform that shares extensive knowledge, information, and related research achievements on Korean contemporary art. It was launched in February to promote understanding of Korean art by outlining the development process of Korean contemporary art and to facilitate domestic and international research.

The seminar, regularly held, presents thematic research results jointly conducted by researchers inside and outside the museum. Previously, on March 29, the first launch commemorative seminar 'MMCA Research Lab Research Meeting 1: Korean Art Chronology and Thematic Research' was held.

This seminar will be attended by Kim Yujin (curator at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), Kim Honggi (art critic), Mok Suhyun (art historian), Moon Hyejin (art critic), Bae Myeongji (curator at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), Shin Junghoon (professor at Seoul National University), Jang Seungyeon (lecturer at Sungkyunkwan University), Jeon Yushin (curator at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), Jeong Hyun (professor at Inha University), and Chae Yeon (curator at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art).

The seminar will focus on three main themes: 'Modern and Contemporary,' 'Globalization,' and 'Diversification of Media and Forms,' with each researcher providing detailed analyses of selected exhibitions and attempting to contextualize the exhibitions. Seminar participation registration will be available for free via advance reservation on the MMCA website starting at 10 a.m. on the day.

Kim Seonghee, director of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, said, "I hope this thematic research seminar, presented through collaboration between researchers inside and outside the museum, will activate discourse on exhibitions and contribute to further expanding the context of Korean art."
