This competition was promoted to discover new flavors of kimchi, Korea’s representative food, with the theme of ‘unique dishes using kimchi,’ and to promote the rural theme park and its representative experience event, the cooking class.

Creative recipes such as ‘Cherry Blossom Kimchi Ssambap,’ ‘Kimchi Donkatsu Burger,’ ‘Kimchi Pizza,’ and ‘Beef Kimchi Roll’ were showcased, each boasting its own unique taste and style.

On the day, the judging panel composed of Kimchi Master Park Jeong-sook, Miryang City Council member Bae Sim-gyo, Kim Ok-kyung, president of the Korea Life Improvement Miryang City Federation, and Shin Young-sang, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, rigorously evaluated four categories: taste, composition, skill, and hygiene.

The first place was awarded to the team of Shin Ju-gyeong and Moon Ru-ma from Chodong-myeon with ‘The Day Kimchi and Steak Fell in Love.’ Their harmonious combination of kimchi rice balls, beef, and garnish vegetables enhanced both taste and flavor, earning high praise from the judges.
