Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 2nd that it held the "11th Culture and Education Policy Strategy Meeting" in the mayor's office on the 29th of last month to discuss the direction of culture and education policies and interdepartmental collaboration methods.

With 20 attendees including Mayor Kim Dong-geun, the vice mayor, the director of the Culture and Learning Bureau, and heads of related departments, the main agenda items included ▲ the direction for hosting the 7th Black Music Festival (BMF) in 2025 ▲ the role of local governments in fostering convergent talents ▲ the promotion direction of six youth autonomous budget projects proposed and finalized by young people for 2025 ▲ plans for establishing the second branch of Hoho-dang ▲ and measures to revitalize the operation of citizen-led private small libraries.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "I hope that the matters discussed today will be carried out as planned, but not unilaterally; rather, I wish for broad consultation and communication with citizens throughout the process."
The city plans to continue implementing policies for establishing Uijeongbu as a cultural city through regular culture and education strategy meetings.
