"Worked Without Rest" Mention of Rest Plans
"No New Expressions to Show"
'Newtopia' 'Humint' 'Eolgul'... Three Upcoming Projects
Actor Park Jung-min announced that he will temporarily step back from acting to focus on running his publishing company and to take a break.
On the 1st, a video titled "No, I'm not taking a break to raise my LoL tier... No, Jung-min, no, really no" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Yeojeong Jaehyung'. In the video, Park Jung-min appeared as a guest and talked with MC Jung Jaehyung. Jung Jaehyung first asked, "Have you been living only on set all this time?" to which Park Jung-min replied, "Almost. Including small films, I am currently shooting three projects." It is known that he is filming the movie 'Humint' and 'Face' following the wrap-up of Coupang Play's 'Newtopia' in July.
Later, in an interview for the Netflix film 'Jeon, Ran', Park Jung-min said, "I really worked without resting. Then at some point, I wondered, 'Do I have any new expressions to show people?'" He added, "This is something that needs to be created and accumulated somewhere, so I plan to take a break, explore that a bit, and also work on the publishing company." Referring to this, he said, "I don't have any scheduled shoots now. I apologize to those who have offered me roles, but I am declining them." He explained, "Of course, even when filming, I have days off in between, but even using two days a week for personal matters is not enough." He also added, "It's not that I'm tired of acting at all."
He also said, "Going back and forth only between the set and home, I couldn't write books even if I wanted to. In the past, I went out, played, met people, and had various experiences, so I had stories to tell." He added, "Now, the only stories I have are about the terrible people I meet while playing LoL (League of Legends) at night." Furthermore, he emphasized, "My biggest goal during this break is to get the publishing company I currently run on track. It has been a long-cherished wish, so this company is important to me."
Meanwhile, Park Jung-min debuted in 2011 with the film 'The Guard Post' and has built his filmography by appearing in 'Dongju', 'Keys to the Heart', 'Svaha: The Sixth Finger', 'Start-Up', 'Deliver Us from Evil', 'Smugglers', and 'Jeon, Ran'. He will meet audiences through the movie '1 Seung', which opens on the 4th.
