Wine25Plus Steps Up... GS Retail Launches Exclusive Wine Collaboration with Master Sommelier

Super Necessary Cabernet Sauvignon Launch
Premium White Liquor Priced Around 4 Million KRW to Be Released This Month
Wine25Plus Cumulative Orders Surpass 100 Billion KRW

GS Retail's liquor smart order platform Wine25Plus announced on the 2nd that it will exclusively introduce a collaborative wine by master sommeliers, who hold the highest authority in the wine industry, as a sole distributor.

Launched on the 1st, the 'Super Necessary Cabernet Sauvignon' is a limited edition wine jointly created by world-renowned master sommelier Dennis Kelly and Napa Valley winemaker Tom Garrett from California, USA. Grown in red volcanic soil, it features a harmonious flavor profile of blackberry, plum, menthol, and dark chocolate, focusing on blending balance so it can be enjoyed without aging. There are only about 300 master sommeliers worldwide, and Dennis Kelly was the 191st person globally to obtain the master sommelier qualification.

Wine25Plus plans to offer a limited quantity of 20 bottles of 'Guizhou Maotai 15-Year-Old,' one of the world's top three famous liquors, through Yongsung Trading, the official importer and seller of Guizhou Maotai in Korea, priced at 4.5 million KRW per bottle, in mid-month. It is characterized by a smooth and rich body, made by blending and bottling 100% single raw material aged over 15 years more than 1,000 times.

According to GS Retail, Wine25Plus, launched in July 2020, surpassed a cumulative order amount of 100 billion KRW as of the end of last month, enhancing its status as the number one liquor smart order platform in Korea. The order growth rates compared to the same period last year are ▲1300% in 2021 ▲148% in 2022 ▲174% in 2023 ▲190.2% in 2024 (as of November).

The synergy of O4O (Online for Offline) created by the organic connection between the Our Neighborhood GS application (app) and offline stores increased customer convenience and led to higher store sales and average spending per customer. Additionally, continuously introducing differentiated liquors and operating a product lineup of about 7,000 items including wine, hard liquor (including whiskey), and cocktail liquors are also cited as success factors.

Shin Yong-hyun, MD of Wine25Plus at GS Retail, stated, "Wine25Plus has been recognized for presenting a new paradigm in liquor purchasing and has achieved remarkable results in numerical indicators such as sales and order volume every year."
