Providing a Variety of Attractions Until the End of February Next Year
Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 1st that the Yangcheon Park and Sinjeong Intersection traffic island have been transformed into new spaces filled with colorful lights and illumination, hosting the ‘2024 Yangcheon Bichenara Festival’ to decorate the year-end and New Year more splendidly until February 29, next year.
Now in its 4th year, the ‘Bichenara’ festival is held annually at notable locations in each district, attracting many visitors including local residents and tourists. This year, under the theme ‘Road Filled with Colorful Light, Bitdamgil,’ a special night view full of mysterious and beautiful lights will be showcased at Yangcheon Park and Sinjeong Intersection traffic island.
At Yangcheon Park, the ‘Light Gate’ at the plaza entrance and the 4-meter-tall light sculpture ‘Castle of Light’ lead visitors with a mystical atmosphere. In the center of the park, ‘Bitdamgil Plaza’ features various light sculptures and laser lights reminiscent of the Milky Way, creating captivating photo zones throughout. Along the walking path surrounding the park, ‘Five-colored Bitdamgil,’ diverse lights in different colors and shapes twinkle like fireflies.
Starting from the 21st of last month, the Sinjeong Intersection traffic island (Haenuri Fountain Plaza), where the Christmas tree lighting began, warmly illuminates the cold winter nights with large trees decorated in beautiful colored lights.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, “I hope many people will come to this festival to enjoy the beautiful feast of lights together and create precious memories, making it a special opportunity.”
