Mutual Cooperation to Promote Tourism Welfare and Spread Sharing Culture
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 1st that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seoul Dragon City (CEO Seung Man-ho) on the 29th of last month to “expand tourism participation for vulnerable groups.”
This agreement is a project to cooperate with local tourist hotels to support tourism participation for vulnerable groups. Following the first agreement with Grand Hyatt Seoul in September, this is the second achievement for Yongsan-gu.

At the signing ceremony held in the mayor’s office that day, the two organizations pledged to actively cooperate to increase travel opportunities for vulnerable groups facing difficulties in tourism activities due to economic and social conditions and to encourage tourism activities.
The main contents of the agreement include recommending vulnerable groups for tourism, supporting travel such as accommodation at tourist hotels, supporting tourism and sports activities, and linking and supporting other social contribution activities. The full-scale project is scheduled to start early next year after selecting the beneficiaries.
Through this agreement, high-quality tourism welfare benefits will be provided to those who were in the blind spots of tourism. The district plans to continue cooperating with various tourist hotels in the region to spread a culture of sharing and actively promote tourism welfare activities.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “We will continuously expand support and benefits to increase tourism participation for vulnerable groups,” adding, “We will do our best to strengthen connections with the local community and promote balanced growth of the local economy and tourism industry.”
Meanwhile, Seoul Dragon City Hotel is Asia’s largest and Korea’s first hotel complex consisting of four brands: Grand Mercure, Novotel Suites, Novotel, and Ibis Styles. It has 1,700 rooms, various facilities, and state-of-the-art conference and entertainment facilities. In addition, through eco-friendly activities, a portion of the profits generated is donated to the Yongsan Welfare Foundation to support vulnerable youth in Yongsan-gu, actively practicing environmental, social, and transparent management.
