Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held the graduation ceremony for the 2nd class of the "Mapo Filial Piety School" on the morning of November 30th at the Majung Hall of Mapo Central Library.
The 2nd class of the Mapo Filial Piety School began with the first lecture by Choi Tae-seong, known as "Keunbyeolssaem," famous for his "Naked Korean History" series. The second session featured Professor Lee Heon-ju from Yonsei University and tax accountant Lee Jang-won, while the third session included Kim Yoon-na, director of the Malmaeum Research Institute, and Professor Park Jeong-ho from Myongji University.
This graduation ceremony was organized to enhance the sense of achievement among participants of the 2nd class and to celebrate their completion.
On the day, about 370 graduates of the 2nd class and Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the event.
At the ceremony, Mayor Park Gang-su awarded certificates of completion to 15 representatives of the graduates and encouraged all participants who completed the four-week journey.
Afterwards, the graduates took commemorative photos to capture memories, watched an event video, enjoyed a drawing performance by a VR artist, and attended a congratulatory performance by Jo Young-gu.
Mayor Park Gang-su said, "I hope today’s graduation ceremony is not the end of the Filial Piety School but the beginning of putting what you have learned and practiced into action." He added, "Mapo-gu will continue to do its best to make filial piety a common practice through policies such as the Filial Piety School, Filial Piety Meals, Filial Piety Lodging Senior Centers, Hyochang-gu, and Filial Piety Vacations."
