Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea on the 30th for unilaterally passing next year's budget bill at the National Assembly's Budget and Accounts Special Committee the day before, saying, "They cut the government's contingency funds, the Board of Audit and Inspection, the prosecution, the police, and other special activity expenses, which is obviously a shield for Lee Jae-myung and a paralysis of state affairs."
On the same day, Han said on Facebook, "This is budget tyranny against the entire nation," and "It will remain a dark chapter in the constitutional history of the Republic of Korea and parliamentary democracy."
Han pointed out, "Surprisingly, even the 'livelihood budget agreed upon by the ruling and opposition parties' was not reflected," adding, "Among them was the budget for the construction of the Honam High-Speed Railway, but the Democratic Party is willing to abandon Honam if it means paralyzing state affairs."
He continued, "They also cut the budget for the resident doctor support project, and even the future budgets of Korea such as establishing a foundation for nuclear reactor exports and developing the East Sea deep-sea gas field were thrown away," emphasizing, "Our growth engine will cool down, livelihoods will become difficult, and public safety and security will deteriorate."
Han added, "Due to the Democratic Party's budget tyranny, all our people except the Democratic Party will become unhappy," and "I will correct this together with the people."
