Yeongju City Takes First Step in Establishing Bean Self-Sufficient Convergence Complex Project

Holding of Buseoktae Producers Association Meeting

Establishing a Foundation for Yeongju Soybean Industry Development

On the 29th, Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk held the 'Buseoktae Producers Association Meeting' at the Agricultural Technology Center, taking the first step toward the successful promotion of the 2025 Soybean Self-sufficient Convergence Complex Project.

At this meeting, producers and officials from 11 Buseoktae production complexes attended to discuss ways to establish a convergence cooperation system covering production, processing, distribution, and product development of Buseoktae. Participants shared business guidelines and exchanged opinions on the development of the Yeongju soybean (Buseoktae) industry by sharing best practices from previously promoted counties and cities.

The role of the Buseoktae production complexes was defined, and a demand survey for necessary equipment and agricultural materials was conducted to prepare concrete data for next year's project implementation. Through this, a foundation was laid to execute the project plan more systematically.

During the meeting, the application procedure for new Buseoktae production complexes was also introduced. Farmers with experience in cultivating Buseoktae can register as a farming group or agricultural corporation and apply to the Agricultural Technology Center by December 30.

Starting with this meeting, the city plans to discuss distribution and consumption linkage plans with management entities experienced in Buseoktae processing in December. This will further strengthen the cooperation system between producer groups and processing and distribution companies.

Gwon Young-geum, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "This meeting was a meaningful occasion to confirm the development potential of the Buseoktae industry and discuss concrete directions for implementation," adding, "We will do our best to enable producers, processors, and distributors to cooperate and grow Yeongju soybean (Buseoktae) into the center of K-food."
