Dongjak-gu, Seoul (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 29th that it held the 'Dongjak-gu Youth Startup Day' event on the 28th at the shared space on the 2nd floor of the Dongjak Employment Support Center, having a meaningful meeting with young entrepreneurs in the district. About 40 young entrepreneurs, including representatives of 17 local companies, attended the event.
At the 'Dongjak-gu Youth Startup Day' event, Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, is listening to policy proposals from young entrepreneurs. Provided by Dongjak-gu.
'Dongjak-gu Youth Startup Day' was planned to guide startup support policies so that young startup companies can grow into global unicorn companies, and to establish a direction for the district and companies to develop together through the vivid opinions of entrepreneurs.
In the first part of the meeting, young companies introduced themselves, presented their achievements, and proposed policies to revitalize startups. In the second part, explanations were given about startup support and youth policies promoted by the district, followed by a time for information exchange and communication among young companies.
The district operates the Campus Town project (Chung-Ang University, Soongsil University) supporting office spaces for young companies and the Youth Startup Support Center to revitalize the startup ecosystem.
In addition, various policies are being promoted to strengthen youth employment capabilities, such as recruiting the largest number of administrative interns among autonomous districts, supporting employment clubs (resume and cover letter editing, mentoring by current workers in desired jobs, etc.), and operating the Youth Job Center (providing free comprehensive youth employment services such as employment counseling, resume photography, and video interview rooms).
Especially from this year, the district has motivated job-seeking youth in the area by providing exam fees (up to 100,000 KRW in cash) for qualification and language tests, as well as additional support such as the nation's first congratulatory gift certificates for language and qualification acquisition (Dongjak Love Gift Certificates up to 500,000 KRW) and employment success congratulatory gift certificates (Dongjak Love Gift Certificates 100,000 KRW).
Mayor Park Il-ha said, “We will actively reflect the diverse opinions of young entrepreneurs heard through this event in Dongjak-gu’s startup support policies,” and added, “We will continue to provide full support so that local young companies can leap into future unicorn companies, and continuously discover policies that help young people’s lives, such as employment and monthly rent support.”
