Andrey Belousov, the Russian Minister of Defense, officially visited North Korea on the 29th, according to Russian state news agency reports.
TASS news agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported that Minister Belousov "has several bilateral meetings planned with North Korean military and military-political leaders during his official visit to North Korea."
This visit took place amid North Korea deploying more than 10,000 troops to support Russia in the war against Ukraine. It is expected that cooperation measures between Russia and North Korea regarding the Ukraine war, including the troop deployment, will be discussed.
Earlier, Choe Son-hui, North Korea's Foreign Minister, made a week-long working visit to Moscow from late last month to early this month, meeting with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and also had a surprise meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.
