This evaluation comprehensively reviewed the preparedness and disaster response capabilities during the summer countermeasure period from May 15 to October 15. In particular, the evaluation focused on rapid response and effective management systems to ensure residents' safety.

Gapyeong-gun operated a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters composed of 13 collaborative functional task forces through cooperation between the disaster management department and related organizations. The county conducted simultaneous inspections of areas vulnerable to human casualties such as steep slopes, landslide-prone areas, and reservoirs, and thoroughly managed vulnerable facilities. In addition, when summer weather warnings were issued, on-site surveillance and situation response reporting were strengthened to meticulously manage the safety management system. As a result, the fact that not a single human casualty occurred was highly evaluated.

Governor Seo Tae-won stated, “Natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain, and heavy snow are occurring more frequently due to abnormal weather patterns,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to ensure the safety of residents by pre-inspecting disaster-prone areas and aging facilities.”
