On the 28th, the county announced that it signed the ‘Gapyeong-gun-GH Win-Win Development Agreement’ to expand industrial infrastructure in Gapyeong-gun at the GH headquarters in Suwon City. The signing ceremony was attended by Seo Tae-won, Governor of Gapyeong-gun, Kim Se-yong, President of GH, and other officials, who pledged to expand industrial infrastructure and promote mutual cooperation.
According to the agreement, Gapyeong-gun will actively support infrastructure costs, attract companies, and land sales, while GH will engage in active collaboration by fulfilling participation procedures and performing licensing tasks. Through this agreement, the foundation for revitalizing the Gapyeong regional economy will be established, and cooperation between the two organizations is expected to be further strengthened.
In particular, the Sangmyeon General Industrial Complex development project is expected to gain significant momentum through this agreement.
A Gapyeong-gun official stated, “Gapyeong-gun is striving to overcome the imminent population extinction crisis and drive local job creation and economic growth through the development of the Sangmyeon General Industrial Complex,” adding, “If GH’s accumulated project know-how combines with Gapyeong-gun’s determination, the likelihood of the project’s success will be greatly increased.”
Governor Seo Tae-won emphasized, “Gapyeong-gun has faced many difficulties in development projects due to overlapping regulations such as the Capital Region Readjustment Plan, Paldang Lake water quality preservation regulations, and military facility protection zones,” and added, “Through this agreement, starting with the expansion of industrial infrastructure, we will do our best to create a virtuous cycle of attracting companies, creating jobs, and increasing population inflow to revitalize the local economy.”
