Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) completed the design competition evaluation for the construction of the new Yeoju City Hall and announced the winning design on the 28th.

The winning entry for the Yeoju City Hall construction project design competition was the joint submission "Timeless Yeoju" by HaeMa Architectural Firm Co., Ltd., KG Engineering Architectural Firm Co., Ltd., and Dongnam MEC Co., Ltd.

"Timeless Yeoju" was highly evaluated for its environmentally friendly wooden frame structure design, functionality, economic efficiency, and accessibility.

The new Yeoju City Hall is planned to be built on site 9-3, Gaeop-dong, with a total project cost of 129.3 billion KRW, consisting of one basement floor and seven above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 31,240 square meters.

The city plans to sign a basic design contract with the winning company and complete the basic design service by the first half of next year. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, aiming for completion by the end of 2028.

The winning design will be granted the basic design service rights, and prize money will be awarded to other winning entries in accordance with relevant regulations.

A Yeoju City official stated, "Based on the winning design proposal, we will make every effort to provide citizens with a clean and convenient city hall as we proceed with the project."
