Yeongdeok-gun Byeolparang Park, Creation of Mysterious Dokkaebi and Dal Tokki Experience Center

A Refreshing Family Experience Space with Storytelling and Exhibition Hall Renovation

The Sports Facilities Office of Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, is attracting attention by introducing the ‘Parangkkaebi Hut’ and ‘Dal Tokki Experience Space’ to offer visitors to Byeolparang Park, located within the local wind power complex, a more diverse experience.

Byeolparang Park was renamed last year from the Forest Ecological Culture Experience Complex and is located near facilities such as the Renewable Energy Exhibition Hall, Junk Trick Art Exhibition Hall, Wood Culture Experience Center, and Shin Tae-yong Soccer Park, where families can enjoy together.

The newly created ‘Parangkkaebi Hut’ is a mysterious experience space utilizing tilted structures and optical illusions. It features concepts that stimulate curiosity, such as a mini goblin road where balls roll upward and a wobbly hanging area, allowing visitors to experience various optical illusions in a mysterious atmosphere that breaks the visual rules of everyday life.

Additionally, nearby are Parangkkaebi goblin sculptures and a trick art photo zone, creating an experience space popular with children and attracting many family visitors.

The ‘Dal Tokki Experience Facility’ is an experience space shaped after the children’s song ‘Milky Way,’ which children love. It allows children to observe and feed rabbits, fostering a connection with animals. Sculptures of rabbits pounding rice cakes on a crescent moon and a Korean paper mulberry tree are installed to evoke nostalgia for adults and stimulate sensitivity in children.

County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “By creating this experience facility, Byeolparang Park has been prepared to be a place where various generations can enjoy together, fostering imagination and harmony with nature beyond being just a tourist spot.” He added, “For the growing children, next year’s project will develop storytelling for Byeolparang Park and renovate the Renewable Energy Exhibition Hall into a Children’s Science Experience Center, making Byeolparang Park an exciting family experience space.”
