College of Future Lifelong Education Convergence, Special Lecture by Major General Kim Yong-dae, Commander of Army Drone Operations

Daejin University College of Future Lifelong Education Convergence (Dean Choi Kyung-sook) announced on the 29th that it held a special lecture titled "War and History! The Future is Drones!" by inviting Army Drone Operations Commander Major General Kim Yong-dae. The special lecture attracted high interest in the field of drone security from students majoring in Smart Mobility in the Department of AI Convergence and the Department of Human Care Lifelong Education, as well as general undergraduates and adult learners.

Commander Kim Yong-dae conducted the lecture focusing on the history of war and the development process of drone technology. He explained the background of the full-scale use of drone technology in military operations and the importance of establishing the Drone Operations Command, emphasizing the role of advanced technology for national security. Especially, leveraging his extensive field experience as an expert in military air power, he delivered a vivid lecture using various video materials, receiving great responses from the students.


The students said it was a valuable time to learn about the development of drone technology and the effectiveness of various military operations utilizing it through the lecture. They also expressed infinite trust in our military, feeling reassured that the Drone Operations Command, Korea’s elite unit, is present in our region.


Dean Choi Kyung-sook of the College of Future Lifelong Education Convergence said, “This special lecture was a precious time to learn how the latest drone technology can impact national security and to understand the local military units.” In particular, she expressed expectations, saying, “It was especially meaningful to invite the Drone Operations Commander to communicate vividly with students on the occasion of launching the Department of Drone Industry, newly established in our college in the 2025 academic year. We hope to continue a close cooperative relationship so that the university and the military can play a pivotal role in the local community.”


This special lecture was a meaningful occasion to understand the intersection of drone technology and national security and to share the direction of future military technology, receiving great responses from the participants.
