On the 29th, the Eoyuji Health Clinic in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, announced that it was selected as an excellent institution in the primary care category at the 2024 Health Clinic Operation Performance Conference hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, held at the Korea Press Center International Conference Hall on the 28th.

This performance conference is held annually to strengthen the primary care, which is the unique task of health clinics, and to discover excellent cases of health promotion projects, aiming to spread them to health clinics nationwide. Primary care is a medical field that first treats diseases occurring in the community and solves residents' health problems, guiding them to higher-level care when necessary.

The Eoyuji Health Clinic has been striving to strengthen primary care to address health issues such as falls, fractures, and chronic diseases caused by sarcopenia in the elderly.

In particular, it was recognized as an excellent institution for actively promoting residents' health by conducting home visits, counseling, and nutrition education for the elderly experiencing muscle loss and weakened muscle strength, and continuously monitoring their health status.

Meanwhile, Paju City has seven health clinics installed in Baekyeon, Duma, Ungdam, Eoyuji, Yeongjang, Munji, and Yadang. A health clinic is a public health medical institution established to allow dedicated public health officials to perform minor medical acts and health promotion projects in vulnerable areas where it is difficult to assign doctors.

Lee Hansang, director of the Paju Health Center, said, “This award is a successful result reflecting the expanded role of health clinics and the demands of local residents,” adding, “We will continue to develop various programs tailored to our characteristics and become an institution that contributes to improving health management capabilities.”
