Promotion of Employee Participation in Social Contribution Activities Such as Donation Delivery and Kimchi-Making Volunteer Work
Busan Transportation Corporation practiced neighborly love by participating in donation delivery and kimchi-making volunteer activities to support the warm winter of the underprivileged in the region.
Since 2014, the corporation has joined the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation’s ‘Santa Expedition Campaign’ again this year, delivering a donation of 2 million KRW for local children.

This campaign is a social contribution project that supports independence kits and growth expenses for protected children and young adults preparing for independence in the Busan area every Christmas. Thanks to the corporation’s sponsorship, more beneficiaries receive support.
On the 27th, they also participated in the ‘2024 Love Kimchi Sharing Festival’ volunteer event held at BEXCO Exhibition Center. The corporation sponsored 6 million KRW for this event, and 29 employees volunteered directly to practice neighborly love.
Now in its 14th year, this event is hosted by the Busan Volunteer Center and involves about 1,000 corporate employees, related institution staff, and volunteers. The kimchi made by participants will be delivered to 5,500 vulnerable households, including elderly people living alone and low-income families.

On December 3rd, the corporation plans to deliver a donation of 2 million KRW and conduct kimchi-making volunteer activities at the ‘10,000 Households Love Kimchi Sharing’ event hosted by three organizations including the Busanjin-gu Senior Welfare Center. This event will be made more meaningful by the participation of 26 employees, including five players from the corporation’s soccer team.
Since its establishment in 2006, Busan Transportation Corporation has continuously carried out social contribution activities. Every year, it donates a portion of employees’ salaries, accumulating a total of 445 million KRW, which has been delivered as surgery expenses for children with incurable diseases in the region. It also operates 26 employee volunteer groups voluntarily established by 1,811 employees, actively leading the practice of a sharing culture.
Lee Byung-jin, president of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, “I hope this activity will be a small help and comfort to neighbors in need in the local community,” and added, “As a representative public enterprise in the region, we will continue various sharing activities to promote regional development and improve residents’ quality of life.”
