16 Years of Public Service Dedicated to Civil Complaints... Recognized for Leading 'Servant Administration'
One-Stop Permit Complaint Service, Civil Complaint Accompaniment Service, and Other Resident-Centered Complaint Projects
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 29th that Kim Yoon-kyung, head of the Civil Service Administration Team, received the main award at the ‘28th Civil Service Volunteer Award’ held on the 21st at the SBS public hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It is the sole awardee from Seoul City.
The ‘Civil Service Volunteer Award’ is an award system given to public officials who have contributed to enhancing public convenience through creative civil service policies and dedicated volunteer work. It is the most prestigious award for public officials and is jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and others.
This year, among public officials from 243 local governments nationwide, one grand prize, nine main awards, and one special award were presented.
Kim Yoon-kyung joined public service in 1993 and has been engaged in civil service work for over half of her career, totaling 16 years and 1 month.
In particular, since 2022, she has been highly recognized for actively implementing ‘Serving Administration’ that considers residents’ perspectives. This includes ▲establishing and expanding a one-stop integrated management system for permit-related civil complaints ▲promoting ‘Customized Civil Service Accompaniment’ for vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities ▲implementing QR code guidance services for civil complaint forms ▲and conducting training to improve friendly administrative services using artificial intelligence.
Through these efforts, consultations and issuance for 480 types of permit-related civil complaints, previously handled by each department, are now conducted in one place by the Civil Service Administration Team, greatly enhancing convenience for residents. A survey showed that 92% of residents are “satisfied” with the system changes.
Team Leader Kim Yoon-kyung said, “I believe this award is given on behalf of all Songpa-gu Office employees who prioritize residents first,” and added, “I will continue to act from the residents’ perspective throughout my remaining public service career and strive to be a public official leading the development of Songpa-gu.”
District Mayor Seo Gang-seok stated, “With this Civil Service Volunteer Award, the value of Songpa-gu’s administrative brand ‘Serving Administration’ has been recognized once again,” and added, “We will continue to ensure that all public officials work with a sense of mission and unwavering dedication to serve residents as the true owners.”
