The water depth of the liquid berths at Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port and the adjacent waters is a place where significant sedimentation occurs due to the topographical characteristics of Pyeongtaek Port, tidal differences, and sand inflow into Namyang Bay during the monsoon season.
According to this agreement, the seven organizations will conduct a feasibility study for efficient water depth management and accurate analysis of sedimentation causes. They will also review the economics and feasibility of integrated management, such as joint dredging management costs, dredging timing, and standardization of maintenance dredging.
Kim Seok-gu, President of the Pyeongtaek Port Authority, said, "Through this business agreement, efficient water depth management of the liquid berths and nearby areas will be achieved, ensuring the safety of the navigation routes and simultaneously increasing the competitiveness of Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port. We expect better development and more growth opportunities for Pyeongtaek Port."
