Successful Hosting of Dongdaemun-gu's 'Visiting Carbon Neutrality Village Brunch Special Lecture'

Plan to Expand Operation for All Residents in 2025 with the Theme of 'Carbon Neutrality and Dietary Habits'

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held a meeting on the 26th at the conference room on the basement level 1 of the district office for participants of the 'Visiting Carbon Neutrality Village Brunch Special Lecture.'

This meeting was part of the carbon neutrality education program conducted by visiting 10 apartment complexes from September 24 to November 22, reflecting on the educational activities attended by a total of 182 people and sharing their impressions.

Twenty-three residents who took the brunch special lecture attended the meeting and watched videos of the educational activities. Afterwards, they shared their thoughts on the education and experiences practicing carbon neutrality together with Mayor Lee Pil-hyung.

The residents unanimously agreed that the special lecture was very helpful in learning about practicing carbon neutrality and applying it in daily life. One participant said, “Through the education, I newly learned about recycling and waste separation, and developed a positive perception of vegetarianism,” adding, “I am practicing small habits at home as well.”

Confirming the high satisfaction of residents with the education, Dongdaemun-gu plans to expand environmental education to all residents in 2025 under the theme of ‘Carbon Neutrality and Dietary Life’ based on the opinions gathered at this meeting.

The new education program will include not only environmental theory education but also hands-on activities where participants can make low-carbon foods themselves, providing more practical content.

This program, open to all Dongdaemun-gu residents, will be actively promoted through various channels such as the district newsletter, website, and KakaoTalk.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will prepare various environmental education programs to realize a carbon-neutral city Dongdaemun-gu, created together with the direct participation of residents.”
